
CONTEXT: Seems Jeff Merkley's "off-the-shelf campaign" got a little jealous of Steve Novick's creative ads and fund-raising.
After Novick launched the Left Hook Lager fundraiser, his "opponents" contacted some local media to complain that his campaign was illegally selling alcohol. Unfortunately for Team M, this latest whine fell flat, mostly because the Oregon Liquor Control Commission confirmed that Novick hasn't done anything wrong and has been working with them throughout the process.
If they're really this desperate, Merkley's Washington, D.C., campaign consultants must believe Novick can't be beaten on the issues.
Meanwhile, Merkley spokeswoman Emily Litella had this to say about Merkley's latest attempt to create a silly scandal.
